Belvedere Court (1938) by refugee architect, Ernst Freud
East Finchley Tube Station, London
Starting at the Modernist East Finchley station, this walk travels back in time looking at inter-war architectural styles on the North side of Hampstead Garden Suburb finishing with Arts and Crafts cottages. As well as looking at the architecture we discuss some of the people that the street names commemorate, many of whom relate to the Christian Socialist co-partnership and the early Garden City Movement.
Led by Marilyn Greene, qualified guide and art/local historian.
Included with this tour will be an insider’s walk of Hampstead Garden Suburb.
The whole walk will last from 2.00pm-4.30pm
