On Tuesday 8 December at 6pm: Meike-Marie Thiele and Ruth Ur will give a behind-the-scenes presentation about the exciting new plans for an Exile Museum in Berlin. Incorporating the ruins of the symbolically resonant Anhalter Bahnhof railway station, the museum will focus primarily on those who were forced to leave Germany after 1933, but will also explore present day experiences of displacement. Although the project has been in the pipeline for some years, the recent selection of Dorte Mandrup, Copenhagen as the architects of the new building brings it an important step closer to fruition.
